Raspberry Golf Management Adds Augustine to Management Portfolio

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 24, 2011

Raspberry Golf Management (RGM), a leading-edge golf management company located in Leesburg, VA, today announced its newest addition to their club management portfolio with the signing of a 10 year management contract with Augustine Golf Investors, LLC, the new owners of Augustine Golf Club in Stafford, VA.

The addition of Augustine brings Raspberry Golf Management’s stable of operations to five (5) properties – 4 located in the demographically rich Northern Virginia. Besides Augustine, Raspberry Golf Management is affiliated with Bull Run Golf Club in Haymarket, VA, Old Hickory Golf Club in Woodbridge, VA and Raspberry Falls Golf & Hunt Club, its flagship property, in Leesburg, VA. RGM is also engaged in a Management Agreement with Pennsylvania Power & Light (PPL) to operate Royal Manchester Golf Links in Mt. Wolf, PA. Augustine Golf Club becomes the 5th operation under the tutelage of RGM.

Rick Rabil, Managing Partner of Augustine Golf Club, LLC, is excited about Augustine’s future. “After working with Raspberry Golf Management at Raspberry Falls (since 1996), Old Hickory (since 2003) and Bull Run (since 2010) we believe that RGM is the best in the business at operating golf courses and will make Augustine Golf Club a destination for all golfers in the area. Their ability to make these courses a Country Club for the day draws a lot of interest from golfers who would normally gravitate to a Private Club. We couldn’t have selected a better partner than RGM,” stated Rabil.

Bob Swiger, Managing Partner of Raspberry Golf Management, echoed Rabil’s enthusiasm. “Augustine Golf Club fits perfectly into RGM’s management philosophy and vision – provide a quality golf environment and exceed customer’s expectations. The layout, setting, physical plant of Augustine allows us to do what we do best – give the customer a valued experience.”

Augustine Golf Club, designed by renowned Golf Course Architect Rick Jacobsen and aptly named given its approximation to the family homestead of our first President, George Washington (whose father’s was name Augustine), opened to fanfare in 1995. Immediately, the club began to receive media accolades. Augustine received national awards from both Golf Digest and Golf Magazine shortly after its opening.

From its impressive stone constructed clubhouse (which boast a spacious proshop, grille & bar area and verandah) to its 6817 yard, Par 71 layout, to its beautiful contours complete with wetlands, streams and magnificence hardwoods, Augustine Golf Club is a gem of a public venue; prime and poised to be a favorite among public golfers throughout the DC Metro area. The new owners have several upgrades planned over the next several months to enhance the club’s playability and service capabilities.

Thru its association with Raspberry Golf Management, Augustine will now be able to offer reciprocal membership opportunities with Raspberry Falls, Old Hickory and Bull Run. In addition, Augustine will join the ‘Raspberry Golf Trail’ – an association of outstanding public golf facilities that stretch from Harrisburg, PA to Fredericksburg, VA (www.raspberrygolftrail.com). Last, but certainly not least, Augustine will become an additional location of the popular Raspberry Golf Academy. The original Academy, located at Raspberry Falls, has won acclaim for providing Tour Pro teaching and club fitting facilities to the average public golfer. In just 3 short years, the Raspberry Golf Academy has become the #1 location for expert instruction and game improvement services in the DC Metro area.
